The Safety Reports Safety Scan app is designed to streamline asset inspections, allowing inspectors to efficiently manage the process of inspecting, editing, or replacing assets. This guide will focus on the Inspect Asset function and explain how to conduct inspections using the mobile app.

Choosing Your Inspection Type

When using the app, you can choose from three ways to conduct inspections: Ad Hoc, Scheduled Route, or Tasks. Select the appropriate option based on your inspection needs.

1. Ad Hoc Inspections

For Ad Hoc Inspections, follow these steps:

  • Enter Tag ID: Type in the Tag ID of the asset or Scan the QR Code to identify the asset.

    • If you type in the Tag ID, click ‘Lookup’ to proceed.

    • If you scan the QR code, the camera will open, and once the code is recognized, it will automatically advance to the Inspect/Edit/Replace screen.

    • Note: If you choose ‘Lookup,’ the asset search happens without launching the camera.

  • Perform the Inspection:

    • Select ‘Inspect Asset’. Depending on your account settings, you will either see a drop-down menu of available inspections or the inspection will begin automatically.

    • Use the checkboxes to mark responses. Tapping once on the ‘check’ symbol will enter a ‘Yes’ response.

    • If a question requires you to enter additional information, the screen will automatically move forward after entering it.

    • For more information on a specific question, tap outside the check symbol.

  • Complete the Inspection:

    • Once you have finished the inspection, tap ‘Complete Inspection’ to finalize and save your progress.

2. Scheduled Route

For Scheduled Route Inspections, follow these steps:

  • Select Scheduled Routes: From the home screen, choose ‘Scheduled Routes’.

    • You will see a screen showing the routes assigned to you or your group.

  • Choose a Route: Select the route to begin inspecting assets in the correct order.

    • As with Ad Hoc inspections, either the checklist will appear automatically or you will select it from a drop-down menu.

  • Mark Inspected Assets:

    • Once an asset is inspected, a green ‘Check’ will appear next to it.

    • Continue inspecting and scanning assets in the order listed until all assets have been checked and marked with a green check.

3. Tasks

For Tasks, follow these steps:

  • Select Frequency: If an asset inspection is not assigned to a route but has a set frequency (e.g., daily, weekly), it will appear as a Task in the app.

    • Use the buttons to select the frequency (e.g., Daily, Weekly) to see any inspection tasks assigned for that interval.

  • Scan the Asset: Choose ‘Scan Asset’ to start the inspection.

    • As with the other methods, the checklist will appear automatically or you can select it from a drop-down menu.

  • Complete the Inspection: Perform the inspection in the same way as you would for Ad Hoc or Scheduled Routes, marking checkboxes and entering any necessary information. Once finished, tap ‘Complete Inspection’.

By following this guide, you will be able to quickly and efficiently use the Safety Scan Mobile App for your asset inspections, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
