JSA Offline Mode
Updated over a month ago

Here at Align we have the option to create or update JSAs without a web connection. Additionally, you can share JSA documents with other users, even those who are not JSA authors, all without the use of a web connection.

Download Existing JSAs for Offline Use

The download section of the app is built with three options, allowing users to download settings, select JSAs for use offline, and to delete JSAs that are stored on the mobile device, but have not been sync’d to the cloud yet.

Download Offline Databases: pulls down the available Hazards, Controls, Training, PPE, Chemicals, Groups and Users for the account.

Select JSAs for Offline: allows the user to select specific JSAs from their account and/or from their JSA Bank. If a selected JSA has already been downloaded to the device, a message will be displayed asking the user if they want to re-download it.

Delete All Offline JSAs: removes all previously downloaded JSAs to free up space.

Working with JSAs in Offline Mode

Working in offline mode works the same as when users are online.

  • The user can modify the JSAs they’ve downloaded and create new JSAs.

  • Users who use the JSA bank can still use this feature as well, provided they downloaded them as shown in the previous step

Sharing JSAs

One of the goals with adding offline mode was to make it possible for the author to share the JSA with other employees on site without the need for them to have the JSA application and without the need for an active cellular or WIFI connection.

  • Instead of having the Preview and Email options the user will see the Generate PDF option.

  • Once the PDF is generated a Share PDF button is displayed. This will display the devices share options.

  • Air Drop works well for sharing between Apple devices.

  • Bluetooth can be used to pair and share JSAs using two Android phones

  • Consider a third-party Bluetooth file sharing application (or PDF sharing application) to share between Apple and Android, this also applies to employees that do not have the JSA application, and only receive the shared files.

Sync JSAs from Offline to Online

The sync process allows changes made to the JSA to be updated to the web and allow the JSA author to submit the completed JSA, including all changes made offline.

How to prepare for Offline Work
